Data Smart - the events and meeting market place of Data Hub

Data Smart is the latest addition to the Queensland Government information gateway, Data Hub.  Data Hub provides easy access to a wide variety of information and key data for improved decision making.

Data Smart has been established by the Office of Economic and Statistical Research in Queensland Treasury to further promote high standards in data and information use and to encourage the development of partnerships that assist agencies and organisations to share data, information and knowledge. The development of Data Smart was sponsored by the Queensland Spatial Information Infrastructure Council (QSIIC) as a whole of government initiative.

Data Smart provides all the latest professional development events, news and specialist network details which focus on information products and services, including upcoming seminars, conferences and information sessions throughout Queensland, and developments in the information product and service industry.

Data Smart provides a link to many specialist networks that consider and discuss the latest in statistical releases; economic data and modelling; spatial analysis and mapping; social, crime and transport statistic modelling; and information management, strategy and policy.

Why was Data Smart established?

• Data Smart has been established to provide an integrated system for managing events, and information dissemination to specific client groups and/or networks. 
• Users can access a single website for information about professional development, news and networking regarding information products and services.
• Data Smart will assist in promoting excellence in research and in the use of statistical data and information.
• Data Smart provides event, news and network coordinators with a whole of government site to promote and coordinate information service or product related events, including managing registrations and communications with registrant.
